Combining the buzz of a major US city, and the history of its
English roots, Boston is a great getaway for a short break.
Known as the "Walking City", Boston has a
compactness that makes it easy for the "visitor on
foot" to see all the major sites - from the USS
Constitution on the waterfront to the Freedom Trail, a
self-guided tour of the main historical points in the city.
Along the Freedom Trail you'll find Faneuil Hall - a major
site in Boston and home to the Faneuil Hall Marketplace. This
area is home to shoppers, diners and sightseers throughout the
day - and in to the night. At its centre is a cobblestone
promenade where jugglers, magicians, mimes and bands
continually entertain a constant influx of passers by. On the
other side of the Charles River lies Cambridge - the spirited,
slightly mischievous side of Boston. Packed with international
flair and a youthful vitality, Cambridge is a city where
counter-culture still thrives, classic culture grows and trend
is a way of life.
